Approval in Chamber of Deputies of the bill reforming subcontracting

Yesterday the Chamber of Deputies announced the approval opinion of the reform bill to regulate subcontracting, which bill was presented at the end of last year by the Federal Executive Branch. The laws that will be affected by the reform are the Federal Labor Act, the Social Security Act, the National Workers Housing Fund Institute Act, the Federal Tax Code, the Income Tax Act (hereinafter, IT) and the Value Added Tax Act (hereinafter, VAT).

Approval in Chamber of Senators of the bill reforming subcontracting

We previously informed you of the approval of the reform bill to regulate subcontracting in the Chamber of Deputies. Following up on this, we are informing you that today it was approved in the Chamber of Senators. This means that the reform has been fully approved, and that it will enter into force with its publication in the Official Federal Gazette (DOF), probably May 1 or before.

Auto parts companies could pay more income tax for their maquila operation in Mexico

Although the approved Economic Package for Fiscal Year 2022 did not increase the Income Tax rate (ISR) to be paid by legal entities, it does contain a modification whose practical effect will be that many Mexican auto parts companies pay more ISR for the maquila operation they carry out.

Bases for the import and regularization of used vehicles of foreign origin

On October 18, 2021, the “Resolution instructing the indicated agencies to take actions in relation to the definitive importation of used vehicles” was published in the Federal Official Gazette, in which the President of the Republic instructs certain governmental agencies to adopt measures for the regularization of used vehicles of foreign origin whose legal stay in the country cannot be proven.

Biden administration releases the firstever United States Strategy on Countering Corruption
