On January 28, 2019 the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (“SHCP”), with a prior opinion issued by the National Banking and Securities Commission (“CNBV”), published on the web page of the National Regulatory Improvement Commission (“CONAMER”), a draft bill to amend the general provisions that establish the criteria and procedures in relation to prevention of money laundering and financing terrorism applicable to Money Transmitters.

On December 22, 2018 a bill reforming the Federal Labor Law (LFT) was presented in the Chamber of Deputies by the Parliamentary Group of Morena, which is currently under analysis for the clearance of the Labor Commission of that Chamber.

On January 10, 2018 the National Statistics and Geography Institute (INEGI for its initials in Spanish) published in the Official Federal Gazette the indexing of the values (daily, monthly and annual) of the Unit of Measurement and Indexing, which will enter into force as of February 1, 2019.

On December 26, 2018 the resolution of the Representative Council of the National Minimum Wages Commission (CONASAMI for its initials in Spanish) was published in the Federal Official Gazette (DOF for its initials in Spanish), which establishes the general and professional minimum wages that will be in force as of January 1^st, 2019. As we had anticipated, this resolution will divide the country into two geographical areas for all the issues related with minimum wage.

On December 5th, 2018, the Second Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation approved a draft resolution determining that it is unconstitutional for employers of domestic employees not to be obligated to register those employees with the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).

By ruling of the National Minimum Wage Commission (CONASAMI), beginning January 1, 2019, the new general minimum wage for Mexico will be $102.68 pesos, and the new "Border General Minimum Wage” will be $176.72 pesos.
