The IMPI issued a new statement announcing the suspension of activities

On March 24, 2020 Mexico entered into phase 2 (local transmission) of the outbreak of the COVID-19.

As a consequence, the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) published in its Intellectual Property Gazette the official communication dated March 26, 2020 by means of which such Institute suspends activities from March 27, 2020 to April 19, 2020.

New Standard Provision for Labeling food and non-alcoholic beverages (NOM-051-SCFI/SSA1-2010)

Today, after months of struggle between the private sector and the federal government, the new Official Mexican Standard NOM-051-SCFI/SSA1-2010, General labeling specifications for pre-packaged food and non-alcoholic beverages-commercial and health information, was published in the Official Federal Gazette and will enter into force in stages between October 1, 2020 and October 1, 2025.
