Non-essential activities are suspended in Mexico City and the State of Mexico

The governments of Mexico City and the State of Mexico ordered the suspension of non-essential activities from December 19, 2020 until January 10, 2021. This decision is the result of the increase in Covid-19 transmission rates and the consequent saturation of hospital beds in both states.

The list of essential activities not subject to suspension is maintained in line with the lists contained in the various orders issued in April 2020, at both the federal and state level, and therefore they include the activities necessary to confront the pandemic, those related to public security, those addressing basic needs and those related to critical infrastructure. The new lists seek to be more detailed and specify that the essential activities include their respective supply chain, as well as the activities strictly necessary for their execution and directly related to them.
