Minimum Wages 2021

Yesterday, the National Minimum Wage Commission [Comisión Nacional de Salarios Mínimos] (CONASAMI) approved the increase of the minimum wages, which will go into effect on January 1, 2021.


The increase approved for both wages will be 15%, which will result in an increase in the General Minimum Wage of $123.22 pesos daily to $141.70 pesos and an increase in the Minimum Wage for the Northern Border Free Zone of $185.56 pesos daily to $213.39 pesos.


In addition, two professions are included in the list of professional minimum wages: (i) domestic workers, with an increase of 25% with respect to the Current Minimum Wage, which will result in $154.03 pesos daily; and (ii) day laborers, with an increase of 30% with respect to the Current Minimum Wage, which will result in $160.19 pesos daily.


We will inform you when these increases are published in the Official Federal Gazette and of any other issue regarding this matter.
