On June 1 st , 2016, the Decree amending and supplementing various provisions of the Industrial Property Law was published in the Federal Official Gazette, which will enable the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property to implement the Opposition System in Mexican trademark law.
From the above date, the 90 calendar day term mentioned in the sole transitory article of the Decree began running, after which these new provisions will enter into force and the trademark Opposition System can be implemented.
We will keep you informed on the measures to be considered regarding such implementation.
