New official communications regarding the extension of the suspension of terms and activities of authorities related to Intellectual Property matters

On April 13, 2020, the Mexican Court of Administrative Justice (“TFJA”) issued the official communication SS/11/2020 by means of which it extended the suspension of terms and jurisdictional activities from April 20 to May 05, 2020. On April 17, 2020, said official communication was published in the Official Federal Gazette.


Also, on April 17, 2020 the official communication issued by the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (“IMPI”) dated April 13, 2020, by means of which said Institute extended the suspension of terms and activities until April 30, 2020, was published in the Official Federal Gazette.


Beginning on April 16, 2020 the IMPI enabled the submission of applications and briefs online (through its electronic portal). The filing date of these applications and briefs will be the day they are submitted online and the corresponding file number will be assigned at that moment.


Finally, on April 3, 2020, the Mexican Copyright Institute (“INDAutor”) issued the official communication by means of which the suspension of terms and activities was extended from April 17 to April 30, 2020. On April 17, 2020 said official communication was published in the Official Federal Gazette.
