New transmission methodology and expedited migration of legacy arrangements
New guidelines modify transmission charges and migration conditions for permit holders and users operating under legacy arrangements.
Our partner Edmond Grieger and associate Héctor Sánchez contributed to Issue 20 No. 2 of The Legal Industry Reviews México with the article “Nueva metodología de transmisión y migración expedita de figuras legadas.”
In their contribution, they examine the main changes arising from the Guidelines issued by the Ministry of Energy and the Agreement of Mexico’s National Energy Commission, as well as their implications for permit holders and end users. The article addresses, among other matters, new transmission charges, conditions for voluntary migration and relevant contractual considerations.
The analysis highlights the importance of timely reviewing the validity of legacy instruments, contractual obligations, potential economic impacts and the technical preparation required for a possible transition to the Electricity Sector Law framework.
