We are very proud to share that, for the eleventh consecutive year, Von Wobeser y Sierra, S.C., has been recognized as a "Pro Bono Leading Light 2022" by Latin Lawyer and The Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice.
This recognition is awarded to a select group of firms in Latin America that have pro bono legal counsel embedded in their culture. In Mexico, 43 firms participated and only 13 earned the distinction, including our firm. Pro bono work has a transformative effect on our society, as it helps individuals or communities from vulnerable groups of the population and civil society organizations to thrive and gain access to free legal counsel. Since its founding in 1986, our firm has fostered and incorporated a pro bono culture. For more than 36 years, we have witnessed the benefit of pro bono work, particularly the way in which it delivers a positive impact on our communities, both socially and environmentally. We are honored by this distinction, and also grateful to our partners, of counsel, advisors, associates and interns, as well as to our administrative team, who support this important work. Without their collaboration, it would not have been possible to receive this recognition. Likewise, we extend our congratulations to all those firms in Latin America that were recognized for their commitment and pro bono work.
