Entry into force of the labor reform is postponed

Published today in the Official Gazette of the Federation was the Decree modifying the entry into force of the 2019 reform on labor justice, freedom of association and collective bargaining in the country's remaining federal states.

Consequently, no later than October 3, 2022, the local Conciliation Centers and the Courts of the Judiciary of the federal states corresponding to the third stage must begin operations, which stage comprises Mexico City, Coahuila, Chihuahua, Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nuevo León, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tamaulipas and Yucatán. It should be noted that all matters previously initiated before the Conciliation and Arbitration Boards will be concluded before that authority, in accordance with the provisions in force at the time of their commencement. For those matters initiated before the new authorities, the new rules under the 2019 labor reform will apply.
