On January 10, 2025, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) the updated daily, monthly, and annual values of the Unit of Measure and Update (UMA), reflecting a 4.21% increase. These values will take effect as of February 1, 2025.

The new UMA values are as follows:
• Daily: $113.14 pesos.
• Monthly: $3,439.46 pesos.
• Annual: $41,273.52 pesos.

The UMA is a reference value in pesos used as a basis, index, measure, or economic benchmark for calculating amounts of obligations established in federal and state laws, as well as the legal provisions derived from them. This indicator aims to decouple the minimum wage from certain legal calculations so that increases to the minimum wage do not directly impact payments related to fines, taxes, government procedures, limits on the base salary for contributions, and other economic obligations provided for by law.
