Implementing Legislation for the Constitutional Reform on Telecommunications

The set of laws comprising the implementing legislation for the Constitutional Reform on Telecommunications was enacted.

Dear clients and friends, On Monday, July 14, 2014, the President of the Mexican Republic enacted the Federal Telecommunications and Broadcasting Law; the Law of the Public Broadcasting System of the Mexican State, as well as other amendments and additions to various related laws, which together comprise the implementing legislation for the Constitutional Reform on Telecommunications. One of the effects of the implementing legislation was that, as of its entry into force on August 13, 2014, the Federal Telecommunications Law and the Federal Radio and Television Law will be repealed, and those provisions of the Law of General Means of Communication that conflict with the provisions of the Telecommunications Law will cease to have effect.
