The Mexican Institute of Industrial Property resumes activities

On July 3, 2020, a new Agreement issued by the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), which states, among other things, the following:

• The IMPI will resume activities as of July 6, 2020; • Deadlines and terms will resume on July 13, 2020; • On July 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, 2020, all types of documents will be received physically, being deemed legally submitted on July 13, 2020; • The consultation of files and attention to the public for advisory services and hearings will, in general, be carried out online; • Inspection visits and proceedings may be conducted as of July 13, 2020. This Agreement will be in force during the next six (6) months or until the health emergency caused by COVID-19 is declared terminated. New methodology for electricity transmission service charges applicable to self-supply and cogeneration

On October 19, 2026, the Resolution of the National Energy Commission issuing the methodology for determining the charge applicable to the electricity transmission service provided by the CFE to Permit Holders with electricity generation facilities that have entered into an interconnection agreement and an agreement for electricity transmission service pursuant to the Public Electricity Service Law (the “Resolution”) will enter into force.
