Creation of specialized courts and tribunals in economic competition, broadcasting and telecommunications

On August 9, 2013, the Federal Judiciary Council published General Agreement 22/2013, establishing the creation of two new federal district courts and two new federal circuit tribunals seated in the Federal District, with jurisdiction throughout the Republic. On August 9, 2013, the Federal Judiciary Council published General Agreement 22/2013, by virtue of which, further to the recent constitutional reform in telecommunications and economic competition, two new federal district courts and two new federal circuit tribunals have been created, seated in the Federal District and with jurisdiction throughout the Republic. Accordingly, as of August 10, 2013, the Fourth and Fifth District Courts of the Auxiliary Center of the First Region were transformed into the First and Second District Courts in Administrative Matters Specialized in Economic Competition, Broadcasting and Telecommunications, respectively.
