Regulatory Laws to the Constitutional Reform in Telecommunications

Reforms and additions to several related laws thereto, which together make up the regulatory legislation of the Constitutional Reform in Telecommunications have been enacted.

On Monday July 14th, 2014, the President of the United Mexican States enacted the Federal Law on Telecommunications and Broadcasting; the Law of the Public Broadcasting System of the Mexican Government as well as other reforms and additions to several related laws thereto, which together make up the regulatory legislation of the Constitutional Reform in Telecommunications

One of the effects of the regulatory legislation was that, as of its date of entry into force -August 13, 2014-, the Federal Telecommunications Law and the Federal Law on Radio and Television shall be abrogated and all those provisions of the Law of General Routes of Communication shall be rendered ineffective, in the sense that they are contrary to the provisions of the Telecommunications Law.
